Silent Auction
Thanks to all of you who have bid on paintings in the silent auction. Together we have raised over five hundred dollars. I am taking the money to Wanita today and I am going to spend some time with her. She has finnished the last round of chimo and is slowly getting her strength back. There are still a few paintings in the northern lights collection that are for sale, I am going to take them with me today and hopefully they will be put on display and for sale in Drumheller Alberta. I believe in miracles. God gave us good friends, families, flowers, and sun sets to brighten our lives, give us hope and fill us with love.

Art classes
One of the things that I love about the place I live is that I am able to learn from other artists. I met with my art club today and we enjoyed the afternoon together learning from an artist that lives about two blocks from me, Donna Marie. She taught us how to put a light wash onto our pencil drawings and then continue to build light layers to build depth and warmth into our paintings. We worked in Acrylic today and I did a picture of sunflowers. I need to do some more work on it. This is just a practice painting it is no masterpiece but I am really happy with how it is looking so far. It was nice when our instructor came over to where I was working and asked if she could hold up my painting to show the class, she thought it was really good and I had just started it. I am going to do three new peices to put into the Art show that is coming to Lacombe in April. My friend Sonja Z is the feature artist at the show this year, she lives close by as well. Tomorrow night I am looking forward to the first of three water color classes with Susan Woolgar. There are art classes running all the time around here and they are not too expensive and so much fun. It is good for your health to spend time doing something artistic. What ever you like to do just do it.
I feel good about making a nice supper for my family tonight and inviting some good friends over to share it with us I feel good about the fact that we had a fun time together tonight in family home evening. Singing (that was a little off key) playing the whisper in your ear game (telephone I think it is called) and we topped it off with a really yummy dessert that my teenagers whipped up, lemon meringue tarts. Life just can't get much better than this. God is good to us and I know he loves me. Shelley Wees

The auction has started.
I have a great feeling that I have done my part in preparing this silent auction to raise money for my friend Wanita and her family. I am leaving the rest to you and God. I feel so blessed to have my health and to have four funny lovely daughters and a loving hard working husband who spoils us all. It is so cold here in Canada that my nose is cold and I am inside my warm house. One good thing about the cold is that there is alot of snuggling that goes on around here!! Look at the Lacombe globe this week to see an article about my friend Wanita and the beautiful quilt we relief society sisters made for her. You will find a photo of me smiling with my paintings to start off this silent auction. life is good. Please help me spread the word. God Bless you and be with you on your trip through life. Love to you. Shelley Wees.
